Jacobo Machover was born in Havana. He left Cuba with his family, who fleed the Nazism in Europe, some years after the Castroist revolution. Since then, he has lived in France.
He is a writer, author of many essays about the Cuban revolution in French and Spanish: “Cuba, totalitarisme tropical” (“Cuba, tropical totalitarianism”), “La face cachée du Che” (“The hidden face of Che Guevara”)…, and several autobiographical books : “Mon oncle David. D’auschwitz à Cuba…” (“My uncle David. From Auschwitz to Cuba…”), “El exilio, lejos del paraíso” (“Exile, far from paradise”), among others.
He is also a lecturer at the University of Avignon, France. He fights for democracy and liberty in Cuba and other countries, and for solidarity with Ukraine, against all dictatorships.
